Dean George

Dean George, who has come on board as a Marketing Development Officer, has been building an online presence through website and social media in order to promote everything the theatre does and reach out to potential new members (speaking of which why not get in touch at beelinetheatre@gmail.com if you’d like to be one – Dean). Dean was born in West Wales and currently resides in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire.

Dean got his first taste for marketing while running his own freelance film company. He was in charge of Codfish Productions along with three friends and made promotional videos, short films and animations. In 2006 he was commissioned to produce a short Welsh language documentary about the environment for use in schools across Wales. While the company is no longer active as it was, it went out with a bang in 2007 by hosting an independent film festival in Goodwick showcasing all the films made by the company side by side with other local film talent. From 2008 until 2011 Dean studied English Literature at Cardiff University.

Dean found out about Bee Line Theatre through his interest in the the amateur stage. He has acted a diverse number of roles in the past from Brân in the Mabinogion based musical “On the Tongue of a Bird” to Lady Macbeth in a parody of the Shakespeare play. He has also been a stage manager and director for amateur theatre companies and in 2008 was commissioned to write three short children’s plays for the Fishguard and Goodwick Youth Theatre.

In his spare time Dean is a keen writer in a range of genres. His poetry has been featured on comedy podcasts and his prose has been published by a New York literature zine. He also helps teach Creative Writing for adults at Fishguard Community Learning Centre.
